New Pictures Hunt for small plane after it vanishes from radar near Alderney in the Channel Islands

A DESPERATE search is underway after a small plane vanished from radar near the Channel Islands on Monday.

At least two people are thought to be on board the Piper Malibu plane which lost contact near the Casquets lighthouse.

Two helicopters and lifeboats are combing an area north of Alderney for the light aircraft.

Air Traffic Control confirmed the plane was travelling from Nantes in Western France to Cardiff when it went missing.
