NEW mum Hayley Slater finally admitted she needed professional help in EastEnders after her cousin Kat Moon found her about to self-harm with a screwdriver.
She was last seen waving goodbye to Kat, Mo, Jean, Stacey and all the various kids, including her baby, Cherry. But what we want to know is will Hayley return to the Square and who’s looking after Cherry while she’s away?
Is Hayley Slater leaving EastEnders?
There has been no official announcement from either EastEnders or actress Katie Jarvis who plays Hayley saying the character has gone for good.
It did look like she could be spending a while in hospital though while the mental health team help her get back on her feet.
The consultant told her that her family could come and see her whenever they liked, so we may even see how Hayley’s doing on-screen.
It’s also not known how long Hayley will be in hospital for.
Who will look after baby Cherry while Hayley is in hospital?
Cherry will be cared for by her biological dad, Kat’s husband Alfie Moon – along with help from Kat and the rest of the Slater women.
The baby was conceived when Hayley and Alfie had a drunken one-night-stand while she was in Spain last year.
Alfie and Kat had separated at the time after Kat slept with someone else, leaving their three boys unattended and resulting in son Ernie getting seriously burned after boiling water was spilled on him.
Hayley kept the identity of the baby’s father secret for months, but it all came out over Christmas when she tried to gift Alfie a lock of Cherry’s hair.

Kat worked out the truth as she knew Alfie kept a lock of hair of each of his children in his wallet.
An almighty row broke out which ended up with Hayley pushing Alfie down the stairs and the Slater women thinking he was dead.
But Alfie wasn’t dead and used the opportunity to snatch Cherry and go on the run with her.
Eventually, he returned her and – seeing how much Hayley was struggling with motherhood – suggested he and Kat take care of her while she got help.
