New Pictures Person dies at London Archway station after being hit by train

A person has died after being hit by train at Archway tube station near Finsbury Park in north London.

The collision took place shortly after 4.20pm today at the Northern Line station and services in the area have been suspended as a result.  

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson MailOnline: 'We were called at 4:22pm today to an incident at Archway Underground Station, N19.

The scene outside Archway Tube Station this afternoon at around 4.30pm 

An air ambulance was seen nearby but the person who was hit by a train was found dead at the scene

Commuters reported a major incident was unfolding at the tube station with multiple police cars and ambulances in attendance

'We sent an ambulance crew, an incident response officer and a single responder in a car to the scene.

'We also dispatched our hazardous area response team (HART) and London's Air Ambulance.

'Sadly, a person was found dead at the scene.'

A spokeswoman for Transport for London said there was no service on the Northern Line north of Camden Town in both directions.
