Gail PORTER fights for marriage

GAIL PORTER is battling to save her marriage, we are sad to reveal.

The sexy telly presenter has confessed to friends that she and rock star hubby Dan Hipgrave have been having problems.

She confessed to one pal at last month's Edinburgh Festival: "We are on a break."

Now she has flown to Los Ang-eles where former Toploader guitarist Dan has been working on new material.

But while he is staying with friends, Gail (pictured in the city this week, above right) has checked in to the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, where she is filming for a new Living TV series Dead Famous.

And she signed in using the name Porter—despite taking Dan's surname when the couple married in August 2001.

Gail's agent Debi Allen told us: "The reason they didn't stay together was because Gail was working so hard. She's been really busy, doing up to 14 hours a day.

"Dan is recording an album, but they still found time to see each other twice.

"They've had rows over the three or four years they've been together, but they're fine."

A source close to the couple said: "They're both hot-headed and sometimes the rows go on for days.

"But being apart makes things 100 times worse so Gail has flown out there.

"She loves Dan and wants to work things out. They both do."

Gail left their daughter Honey, two, with Dan's parents.

Last night Gail's mum Sandra confirmed the pair had been rowing.

Stunt

She said: "No marriage is perfect. They were together yesterday in Los Angeles."

Gail and Dan, who live in London, met in 1999 on the set of TFI Friday after her naked bottom was projected on to the Houses of Parliament for a stunt.

Days after their engagement, Gail told the world of her love for Dan, whose biggest hit was Dancing In The Moonlight with Toploader.

She said: "I'm so happy I just can't stop smiling."

The couple even spoke of buying a holiday home together after filming TV show A Place In The Sun ...let's hope they are still able to.
