Sophie Marceau faces

The actress has dazzled China with her grace. Yet, 2016 was the year of all sorrows

No one would have suspected it. Especially not her 222,000 followers on Instagram, who have the impression of knowing everything about her: her favorites, her adopted little dog, a Maltese bichon collected at the SPA and she baptized Lee-Tchi, her photos without His photos lying on his bed in his room, his glamorous photos in evening dress all more dazzling than the others, his video making tai chi in China, a joyous presentation of his film in Angoulême where She bursts out laughing ... Not to mention those with Vincent, his beloved son, or his legitimate indignation over facts of society. Nobody could have imagined the distress Sophie was going through in recent months. And yet, she lived what destroys us all one day or the other: the death of our mother. His has endured five months of chemo in the hospital of Brive-la-Gaillarde. Sophie found her as often as possible, sometimes on her hospital bed, sometimes in the family home of Segonzac.

But Simone Maupu, carried away by a cancer of the lungs, then of the brain, sank into a coma and died before Christmas. At 78 years old. She was the soul, the lighthouse of the family. She was so young! Bravely, without revealing her pain, Sophie has assumed her obligations: a tour in Asia for Chaumet, Citroën, with whom she is under contract, a tribute to Belmondo in Venice, launching "La taularde" A true story and nothing joyous ... She could have asked for a respite. It has just, for months, decreased the rate of its shoots. In March 2016, she told a South China Morning Post reporter she was planning to retire! A cataclysm. The journalist remained speechless, he insisted: really really? In Asia, in China where she is an adored icon, the earth trembled. Good girl, Sophie reassured her. "Well, no, not right now. But I will be very selective about my projects. She repeated: "Very selective. "

Behind the quiet and radiant smile, it was a year of trials and roller coaster that the star had to face. In February, she lost her greatest love of woman, Andrzej Zulawski, the man who shaped it. She was 17 years old, he 44, they stayed seventeen years together, had a son. A brilliant philosopher, a complex writer and an original filmmaker, he nourished her intellectually, steered her style and femininity, pushed her within her limits as an interpreter, opened her to literature, painting, writing. An implacable judge and a tortured creator, he was a possessive being. Violent sometimes, always uncompromising. He criticized almost all the films she shot outside of him. And of course his James Bond, "The World Is Not Sufficient", in 1999, and "Braveheart", with Mel Gibson, in 1995, who nevertheless gave him his international stature. She left in 2001, she was 35 years old. The girl had become a refined, voluntary, cultivated and versatile woman, able to shoot "her" film about their story, "Tell Me Love," a year after the breakup. Despite the conflicts, the aggressiveness of Andrzej who did not recover from the separation, when he died, Sophie lost a part of his youth: Andrzej was his initiator, his artistic father.

She needed to strengthen ties. As she often repeats it with a disconcerting sincerity: "I love traveling, but I realize more and more that what fills me is to stay at home, surrounded by mine. I do not like to feel alone. "Only Sophie? Her daughter, Juliette, 14 years old, is slowly taking off; She has her life, her friends. His son, Vincent, went to study cinema in New York. A welcome freedom but a bit dizzy too. At the age of 50, Sophie took the opportunity to create an invigorating idyll with chef Cyril Lignac, eleven years younger. "The body must exult," said Brel in his song. But finding his son and being with him is worth all the lemon tarts: his son who publishes on Instagram his photo with "the most wonderful human being in the world". His mother. This is the first time she sees her child cross the ocean far from her for so long. At first, she made gallstones. "Six months after his departure, I had to remove the vesicle! She confessed, ironically. "Yes, what do you want, I have my anguish. It appears that his daughter threw him, half-droll, half worried: "And when I go, will you take away what organ?
When on January 11, the C8 channel broadcast in prime time a biographical document Sophie Marceau, several newspapers headlined" The happiness of Sophie ", unaware that the material the star was away from swimming in the fullness . To see her mother suffering from a mortal illness, she who always displayed a fierce energy, was to confront brutally the tragedy of loss. The next one is us. From then on, we are reviewing our priorities. We no longer miss out on important things. For Sophie, it may be to clarify her relationship. And engage on its own credo.

Is this the reason why she fought alongside Julie Gayet, the producer, to succeed in mounting this hard film, "La taularde", of the young Audrey Estrougo, in which Sophie shows tumefied, poorly lit, Naked during the immodest body search, brutalized by the other inmates ... She was no longer in the comedy. A style she mastered yet to perfection and which her audience loves. No, in this year 2015, Sophie Marceau no longer had to have a heart to laugh.

"The taularde" was shot in a disused prison, leaden by an icy cold and currents of air that pierced you. Sophie took the opportunity to denounce with accuracy "the absurdity of the prison that cuts you of everything, of all. The world, yours, and yourself. " And to explain the insidious influence of incarceration: "We turned twelve hours a day, but in the evening I knew that I could go back to the hotel. Yet, amorphous or exaggerated, one carries within oneself the confinement. "This is also what gave her all legitimacy to defend Jacqueline Sauvage, the woman sentenced to ten years in prison for killing her husband who beat her for forty-seven years and who abused her three daughters . Francois Hollande, respectful of the judgment of the tribunal, at first only "partially" pardoned him. Tweet Sophie's rage: "Since when has the prison become a place conducive to" reflection "? [And] to arrive at what conclusion? That she deserved what her husband inflicted on her? [...] The day is far when our society will respect the right of women as much as that of men. It has been said that Julie, the President's fiancée, had not tasted these critical positions. Questioned, Sophie evacuated the question: "We crossed little on the filming, and anyway we did not talk about Jacqueline Sauvage. Did Gayet straighten the straps? It is frankly unlikely, because his film about the prison is already an overwhelming indictment on the state's prison policy.

Sophie does not disarm. In March 2016, she also split another Tweet Assassin on the Legion of Honor given to the Saudi prince: "That's why I [refused]. And pan! This must have earned him thousands of astonished followers. And this other phrase about weaponry in the United States after the Orlando shooting: "When you have a weapon, you use it, when you do not have it, you do not use it ! Some claimed they did not understand. It was clear, though? Obama could have said the same.

Slowly but surely, Sophie Marceau, through social networks, is in the process to purify its image. Live and uncompromising. Neither tepid nor spoiled child, she kept the lessons of her parents who had to fight during their whole life, in silence, teeth clenched: "In France, one spends one's time to grumble without ever being grateful for this State which takes the People in charge, who does not let them down. If we could remember it, it might give us a smile. Well seen, comrade.

Today, she starts what is called a mourning work. It is a long process paved with "first times without it". Even an adult and responsible for his life, there is no age to feel orphaned. Sophie will never be as similar to her fans as during this year. Like them, like us, she will experience this terrible feeling of emptiness and abandonment. Vaillant soldier, she made a good face, beautiful and laughing when it was necessary. But in filigree, we understood that his life changes, and his desires too. She wrote on Twitter: "I am not too present at the moment, I write ..." She warned: "I need to gather, not to be in the eyes of the other, Express more personal things. She said she was imagining "a solar comedy, I want to laugh".

His vitality, the family heritage, his children, his brother, his father now widowed, devastated, and somewhat his job: so many pillars to start a second life. Full and autonomous. Combative when needed.

No one had been in this apartment since 1942. What they found inside is absolutely amazing!

Madame de Florian was a woman of the world and a Parisian actress who fled to the south of France during World War II. She kept her apartment on the right bank of the Seine, near the Opera Garnier, to return at the end of the war. However, she never returned and stayed in Provence until the end of her days.
Since 1942, the apartment has remained as when it had abandoned it on its flight, completely untouched. But when she finally died, the people who entered it a true capsule is found in time, full of treasures ...

Everything was covered in dust, but perfectly preserved.

All these period furniture remained exactly as she had left them. It looks like she wore make-up in front of the mirror again yesterday ...
That may seem strange, but in time, own stuffed animal was a sign of wealth and influence. Yes, it is indeed an ostrich ...
The house is not open to the public yet ...
Inside, a painting by Giovanni Boldini was found. A portrait of the landowner herself, Madame de Florian.
The paint was sold for 2.1 million euros and the rest of the objects in this apartment could well be worth millions as well.
This flat set in time is a true lesson in history, which shows us how the life of the people of high society in Paris, at that time, could look like.
To enter this apartment is like entering a little piece of forgotten history.

The apartment remained untouched because Madame de Florian continued to pay the rent until her death in 2010 at the age of 91 years. Despite the fact that she continued to pay the rent, she never set foot there.

Laprimaire.org: who will be the citizen candidate to challenge Fillon, Macron, Mélenchon, Le Pen and others?

Between the primary of the November right and that of the left of January is another primary, less media but unpublished, that of the citizens. More than two hundred people were on the starting line, five are still in the final. Online voting starts on Thursday 15 December and will end at the end of the month.

They are Michel Bourgeois, Roxane Revon, Charlotte Marchandise, Nicolas Bernabeu and Michael Pettini. They are between 30 and 52 years old. They live in Corse-du-Sud, Île-et-Vilaine, Lot-et-Garonne, Paris and the Alpes-Maritimes. What do they have in common? These men and women are the five finalists laprimaire.org , an open primary, democratic, beyond any political party, and online. These citizens have been campaigning at their own pace and away from the media since April. At the end of the month, one of them will win his ticket to compete in the 2017 presidential election, alongside François Fillon, Emmanuel Macron, Jean-Luc Mélenchon, Marine Le Pen and all the other "traditional" candidates ", Coming from the political formations.

Reforming the nomination process
Created by a lawyer, David Guez, and an engineer / entrepreneur, Thibauld Favre, laprimaire.org is an association that is part of the Civic Tech movement. Its objective is to instil a democratic renewal, to give citizens, through the Internet, a new way of being heard. And in the presidential election "really the only candidate from the people" , explains Thibauld Favre:

"The political parties represent 365,000 people, or 0.5% of the French population, and nominate candidates for elections that citizens reject massively and increasingly systematically because they challenge their legitimacy. We believe that the fundamental problem is the professionalization of politics, the confinement created by the traditional parties, and it is not normal for the people to The choice between candidates that he did not choose, so we have to change the way candidates are nominated. "
Certainly, but to allow citizens to choose their candidate, is not that precisely the purpose of the primaries? That of the right and center, held in November, mobilized not less than 4.2 million people in the first round, and 4.4 million in the second. " It was a healthy exercise in democracy, but again, voters do not directly choose their candidates, precise Thibauld Favre . They had to separate the stars from the right. All are there for a very long time" . Far from a Barack Obama in 2008, enjoying an express ascension within the American Democratic Party, and even Donald Trump in 2016, who was on the sidelines of the Republican Party before winning his primary and defeating Hillary Clinton, perceived as the candidate of a system out of breath.

500 candidates on the starting line, one at the finish
The adventure of theprimaire.org began at the end of 2015. With a creed: everyone can present themselves, all ideas are welcome. For more than three months, David and Thibauld make a tour of France to find the first candidates. "  In April 2016, at the official launch of the platform, we had 20  ," says Thibauld Favre.

Finally, from April to July, 215 citizens declare their candidacy. But to reach the first round - and eliminate wacky and other unmotivated tourists - it is necessary to gather at least 500 citizens support. On 15 July, at the close of the pre-selection phase, 16 candidates had reached this target: twelve men, four women, aged 24 to 71, thanks to an intense mobilization campaign on social networks and on the basis of A draft program.

From August to October, the sixteen qualified have formed a team and refined their program, by theme, by topic (economy, environment, taxation, Europe, institutions, agriculture, migrations, culture, society ...) Some, to Internet users' proposals. Four of them eventually gave up, three of them to stand behind a candidate for similar ideas.

An innovative voting method: the majority judgment
The first round was held on the internet, by electronic vote, from 26 October to 6 November. 11,304 voters participated. With a strong innovation in the method of voting. " We wanted to create a system where we do not vote more default or against a person but for a project" says Thibauld Favre.

This method is called the "majority judgment". It was invented by two mathematicians of the CNRS, Michel Balinski and Rida Laraki. Praised by many researchers in the world , it is a way of positive selection, based on membership, the results of which are intended to illustrate the will of voters.

To select the five finalists, each voter was allocated, randomly through an algorithm, a "batch" of five candidates. He then wrote them down with "insufficient", "passable", "fairly good", "good" or "very good". At the end of the vote, the five candidates with the most positive majority were qualified for the final.

"Random lots take democracy to the top, and each candidate is guaranteed to be seen a similar number of times, and in order to obtain the most positive majority, they must be distinguished by their credibility and the quality of their proposals This system avoids the vote sanction, and protects against manipulation attempts and electoral strategy, because the allocation of candidates in the lots is completely random, "says Thibauld Favre.
The blockchain in electronic voting: a world first
To ensure the security of this particular vote, the organizers chose to go through the blockchain. This emerging technology, the technical basis for secure crypto-currencies such as the bitcoin, is the only one that guarantees the anonymity of voters, the transparency of the vote and the reliability and unalterability of votes. The blockchain makes the votes non-piracy and allows to keep a record on a register impossible to falsify.

Problem: Technology, which processes each transaction one after another, is not yet strong enough to support a large number of simultaneous actions. And the first round, which attracted more than 11,000 voters, experienced some bugs. " Last weekend, there were disturbances and had to pause several times the votes because of the crowd. It was really a crash test for blockchain, but it is successful. To the second round, we strengthened the technical solidity " , assures Thibauld Favre. It was a world first for a nationwide vote.

The winner will receive the support of a provisional political party
Since the end of the first round, the five finalists chained the "physical" debates, in the French metropolises, to meet other citizens. The opportunity to taste the atmosphere of an election campaign, sharpen its arguments, confront adversity. They will be separated in the urns (electronic) from Thursday 15 December at 14h. The vote is open until the end of the month. Also according to the method of mentions, but without the random lots, since there remain only five candidates. Again, whoever gets the most positive mentions will win.

For this second round, the organizers expect at least 50,000 voters. Since the first round, laprimaire.org has won numerous entries. On 29 November, the platform exceeded 100,000, which was its initial goal. " This means that we will go after the adventure until May" , confirmeThibauld Favre.

From now on, theprimary.org becomes a political party. But a provisional party, which will dissolve after the election and will reform each time the platform will bring forth a candidate for an election. Since the legislative elections will follow the presidential election and there are 577 constituencies, theprimary.org will therefore create 577 provisional citizens parties as soon as the new head of state is elected.

With a view to the presidential election, the laprimaire.org party will stand behind its champion to help him obtain the 500 sponsorships necessary to appear before the French, and then to provide him with logistical and financial support to campaign. Mayors " could help ", that is to say, mostly elected without label small towns, have already been approached. Thibauld Favre believes that getting 500 sponsorships should not pose too many problems. Then, will remain the "real" campaign. To finance it, laprimaire.org launched a crowdfunding campaign  : for now, 900 donors have fueled a prize pool of € 65,000. The objective is to raise 300,000 euros.

Finalists who look very much like the CSP + Civic Tech
So you have to choose. Chance or not, the five finalists, despite notable differences on certain themes, have similar profiles. Their proposals lie rather to the left or to the right center of the political chessboard. All are pro-Europe (even if Roxanne Revon wants a federal Europe while Nicolas Bernabeu wants to disobey the current treaties), promote the renewal of institutions, support ecology and sustainable development.

There are two doctors (the Lot-et-Garronais Michael Pettini and the Corsican Nicolas Bernabeu), a lawyer (Michel Bourgeois, Alpes-Maritimes), a professor and director (Roxane Revon, And a trainer (Charlotte Marchandise, of Île-et-Vilaine). All have at least a Bac +5, except the latter (who resumed his studies after a few years of professional life). These men and women embody a public that is often found in Civic Tech: young, graduate, connected, engaged in local life, a social environment higher than average.

The old-fashioned (and current) policy has not yet understood that she is already dead
All too, they are committed because they no longer recognize themselves in politics and in their representatives. They are tired of party divisions (ecology rather classed on the left, the relaxation of work rather ranked on the right) and believe that they, thanks to their position outside the party, better speak to their fellow citizens:

"I want to bring new debates and bring a dissonant voice. Laprimaire.org is the opportunity for a whole generation, the one who has never believed in politics, to finally be able to speak without having to take his card in a party, "explains 30-year-old Revox.

"I am convinced that we must emerge from a system of parties which today does not seem to me to serve its primary purpose (political education, popular mobilization, constructions of projects shared around common values) but which has become an instrument At the service of the power of a minority of people with all the slippages that we know them, "adds Charlotte Marchandise, 41 years.
Nicolas Bernabeu, 31, is driven by the fight against inequality and the feeling that politics no longer defends the weak:

"I come from a very modest background and I had to fight to advance. Others only had to be born to have everything ... It would be enough that people vote for someone different, not from this caste, guided by solid values and animated by an unshakeable will, to That things really change. "
Idealism? Not at all, according to candidates, who think that the old-fashioned policy has not yet understood that it is already dead. The winner risks being crushed against the experienced candidates, "professionals", supported by a more powerful machinery? Not serious: the unprecedented presence of a citizen candidate in the televised debates will show that it is possible to change the system, believes Thibauld Favre.

Voting open until the end of the month
On the program side, candidates push several "priorities". Federal Europe and New Economy for Roxane Revon; Reinvention of living together and sustainable development for Michel Bourgeois; Health reform and democratic and ecological transition for Charlotte Marchandise; Sixth Republic and Major Tax Reform for Michael Pettini; Universal income and sixth republic for Nicolas Bernabeu. Among others. All have thought and written a detailed program.

Does the platform have a political agenda? Any ideas she wants to spread? Not at all, replies Thibauld Favre:

"We are committed to supporting the candidate who will win regardless of his or her program. There have been all kinds of extreme right, extreme left, unbridled liberalism ... But the system of majority judgment, probably because it pushes voters to make a positive choice, has eliminated the most extreme candidates. As for us, even if the winner was far-right, we would support him. Our goal is to push a citizen movement, not to control what it is. "
Verdict at the end of the month.
