The white dress worn by Melania Trump for her first dance with the 45th President of the United States, Donald Trump, is a creation she designed with the French designer Hervé Pierre.

Formed in Paris, Hervé Pierre went to the biggest houses: Carolina Herrera, Vera Wang, Oscar de la Renta ... He also officiated as costume designer for the Paris Opera or the New York City Ballet.

 Friday night, one of his creations has entered history. The split white dress with bare shoulders carried by the "first lady" Melania Trump for his first dance was in fact designed by the French, in collaboration with the First Lady, notes the " New York Times ". The " Washington Post ", he recalls that the dresses worn by first ladies in these historic moments are generally aimed directly at the National Museum of American History.

Earlier in the day, Melania Trump chose a blue dress Ralph Lauren , strongly evoking the Jackie Kennedy style, for the inauguration ceremony.

Other great figures of fashion flew to the rescue of Melania Trump. "Melania deserves the respect of other First Ladies," said Diane von Furstenberg, dressmaker but also president of the influential US fashion union (CFDA). 

"Our role in the world of fashion is to promote beauty, openness and diversity," she told Women's Wear Daily. Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein, Carolina Herrera, Zac Posen and Thom Browne also said they were ready to dress Melania Trump. The Frenchman Jean-Paul Gaultier had refused to attack the wife of Donald Trump: "She dresses very well alone, I have nothing wrong to say about her. It's not a policy issue. "
