MAURO ICARDI’S wife and agent has revealed Inter Milan are yet to offer the striker a new contract.
It means Chelsea are likely to be put on red alert as they continue their search for a new striker.
And for the time being, Inter are no closer to tying Icardi down to a contract beyond his current deal which expires in 2021.
Speaking to Italian TV show Tiki Taka, Wanda Nara said: “When the management at the club contact me, I’ll respond to their request.
“Until now nobody from Inter has called me to further the negotiations. My telephone is always on and I answer every call I receive.”
Icardi has been linked with a move away from the San Siro due to his stellar performances in recent years and has continued his good form this season with 14 goals in 24 games.
But Wanda insists her husband is happy at the club he joined from Sampdoria in 2013 and is confident it will get sorted.
She added: “Mauro is completely open to continuing his professional path at Inter.
“I cannot read the future, I don’t know what could happen next but today I’ll say that there is a 100 per cent chance of us reaching an agreement.”
Chelsea continue to struggle in attack and the Argentinian striker is seen by many to be the solution to the problem.
