WHATSAPP has stopped working for users across the globe as thousands of people report problems with the messaging system.

According to outage tracker Down Detector, the service is having issues globally.

The main areas where problems are being reported appear to be in Northern Europe and South America.

WhatsApp users in the UK are also reporting some issues.

Frustrated users report being either unable to log in to the messaging app or being unable to send and receive messages.

The Facebook-owned app is one of the world’s most popular mobile messengers in the world.
