First pic of man who terrified star's family and Posh's fury as nutter's let out on bail
THIS is the first picture of the crazed intruder who broke into David Beckham's mansion, leaving wife Posh terrified for her life.
Today we can reveal that 38-year-old John Hennigan—seen clutching crutches as he hobbles from a Hertfordshire magistrates court this week—kept a stash of bullets and CS gas at his third-floor flat.
He was released on bail on Friday—and now furious Posh has stepped up secuity around her home.
The court heard that just days before Hennigan scaled a 7ft fence at "Beckingham Palace" in Herts, carrying a can of petrol, he had been released from jail after serving a sentence for possessing a weapon.
Sinister
Last night his frightened neighbours painted a sinister picture of Hennigan—as a thug who hurled racist abuse at people.
The intruder, who has a history of mental illness, was caught by security guards while Victoria and young sons Brooklyn and Romeo were alone inside the £4.5 million mansion watching TV. England skipper Becks, 29, was in Spain training with Real Madrid.
When cops later searched his flat in Harlow, Essex, they found rifle ammunition and CS gas canisters along with cannabis and cocaine.
Angry Posh, 30, can't believe Hennigan has been let out on bail. She told her family this week: "I just want to be safe and I'm having nightmares about what could have happened.
"He could have killed us."
A source close to the Beckhams said: "Victoria has monitored this guy's progress since he was apprehended and is very scared of him.
"She was always afraid that he might have a gun, so it will be a big shock to learn about the bullets.
"The whole thing has left her very shaken. It has proved to the Beckhams there are nutters out there who have access to weapons."
Now the couple have decided to step up security for two-year-old Romeo's christening at the mansion later this month. The source said: "They're taking no chances. For the first time their security guys from Madrid will be joining forces with the UK minders. They need all the men as a ring of steel."
In court Hennigan pleaded guilty to possessing drugs and ammo, but was not charged with breaking into the mansion.
He told police he found the bullets behind a factory on waste ground used as rifle range.
His defence counsel said Hennigan bought the CS gas to protect himself after his home was broken into.
Bulldog
Hennigan appeared in court dressed in an England shirt and sporting a British bulldog motif on his sleeve. He was freed on bail for reports before sentence next month.
The court was told the oddball loner was jailed last June for possessing an offensive weapon.
He was released after serving half his sentence—but within days was caught on the Beckhams' land on the evening of July 19.
Within minutes a police helicopter and patrol cars were at the mansion, which bristles with security devices.
Residents at Hennigan's block of flats in nearby Harlow talked of his racist behaviour.
One said: "He made no secret that he was a member of the National Front.
"His balcony was laden with nationalist memorabilia and his racist abuse of neighbours was sickening. He's been a nightmare to live with."
