Be Wary of the Microwave

The microwave... it's quick, it's convenient, but is it safe? Let's take a look at the evidence.
How the Microwave Affects our Food
According to research, the food that goes into the microwave is not the same food that comes out. This is caused by a change in the molecular structure due to atoms being rearranged. Cell death also occurs and the nutritional value is decreased as enzymes and amino acids are destroyed. This can happen with the conventional oven as well, but because of the higher wattage zapping our food, this causes even greater loss and destruction of the food.
Cooking food covered with plastic wrap and in plastic containers can leak extremely harmful chemicals into the food. The safer alternative would be to re- heat foods on the stove top or in the oven. To reduce nutritional loss and the killing of enzymes and amino acids, try steaming foods in a bamboo steamer. It’s very simple and the foods retain their moisture unlike microwaved foods that turn out rubbery and dried out.
How Microwaved Food Affects our Bodies

According to the Swiss clinical study conducted by Doctors Hertel and Blanc, eating microwaved foods, especially on a daily basis, can cause physical and mental dysfunction in the body. These foods can interrupt biological functions such as hormone secretion and immune function, and they can even change your blood by decreasing blood cell count values, raising bad cholesterol and lowering good cholesterol. The body cannot metabolize these foods from the loss of the enzymes, amino acids and from the decline in nutritional value, which causes an array of digestive disorders. They can also cause mental problems due to a disruption in brainwave function.
In 1989 the University of Minnesota announced on the radio that it was unsafe to heat baby formula bottles in the microwave. This was because of a difference in temperature outside the bottle than the liquid inside, as well as nutrient loss and the destruction of the properties of the milk itself. In 1991 a woman from Oklahoma died when the nurse “warmed the blood for a transfusion in a microwave oven.” These are only a couple examples of what the microwave can do to our food and what that food can do to our bodies. So what’s the solution? We lived without the microwave in the past and we can do it again!
