David Blaine looked a wee bit too healthy

ILLUSIONIST David Blaine looked a wee bit too healthy for a man who'd survived 22 days in a Perspex box on just water.
Was he having sneaky snacks or was he really close to starvation? We decided to test the water—and solve this jimmy riddle!
A urine test would reveal the truth, so we took our plea for a sample to the Tower Bridge site of his 44-day stunt.
And David obliged...taking one giant leak for mankind, at his own convenience of course.
There was no need for b-ladders to collect the evidence from his box, suspended from a crane high above the Thames.

Two pipes are connected to his lair, one to feed in water supplies and another to take out David's urine. So our sample came straight down the tube and into our sterilised container.
If there were ketones—a substance the body produces during starvation—in his pee, he was the real deal. If there was salt, we would soon be telling him: Urine trouble, David Blaine.
Bagged and tagged, we drove our evidence 87 miles to Southampton General Hospital in a three-car convoy, which included ourselves, a Sky TV adjudicator and a urine sample collector.

Racing through swing doors, we were met by the professionals, who took our sample and divided it between three plastic bottles.
The bottles never left our sight—there would be no jiggery pokery or switching of samples at this crucial stage.
We supervised the labelling of the bottles and followed them to pathology, where they were handed over to two top scientists who examined them for salt, potassium, chloride, urea, creatinine, protein, sugar, pH levels and the telltale ketones.
The tension mounted as the results were then handed over to be independently analysed by Professor Marinos Elia, from the Institute of Human Nutrition.
Bursting to know what he said? Read the result below to WC whether he declared Blaine a winner or a loo-ser...

Our peepee at his weewee proved...

HE'S STARVING! In fact Blaine's so hungry a portion of special fried rice could now send his body into shock. And he could soon feel so weak he'll start to faint.
Prof Elia said: "The tests show a combination of low salt and a high level of ketones, which are the main signs of starvation."
And he's still got 22 days to go...
