Why Princess Diana really died

By Clive Goodman
FA SEXBOMB Faria Alam has sensationally confessed that ex-lover Sven Goran Eriksson plotted a secret reunion with her just THREE MONTHS ago.
The England coach hatched his plan for a dinner date with his former mistress while he was in America with the team in May—and it was all done behind the backs of partner Nancy Dell'Olio and Football Association bosses.
Faria, 39, was working for a top fashion label in New York at the time.
And in an exclusive interview with the News of the World she revealed: "Sven rang me four times when he was in the States. He really wanted to see me.
"I think it would have been a chance to resurrect what we had, I really do. But there was no meeting and no sex."
One of Faria's closest friends in the US added: "Sven called her up from his hotel room and a football stadium to fix a meeting. It was HIM who wanted to meet her and HE chose the date and venue—May 29 at a hotel in Manhattan.
"Of course Faria was very excited by the prospect of seeing him again.
"She'd had this fairytale image of one day ending up with Sven forever, although that dream had been shattered.
"And, at the last moment, on the very day of the date, it happened again. Sven called it all off.
"She rang him to confirm what time they were meeting and he announced he couldn't see her—because he was worried he'd be caught out by the Press."
Eriksson, 57, had good reason to be scared. The tryst would have taken place just days before Faria was due to take her former employers, the Football Association, before an industrial tribunal claiming unfair dismissal and sexual harassment.
The result of that case—which came in the wake of the massive Svengate scandal of their three-month affair, exposed by the News of the World in July 2004—is expected at the end of September.
Faria's latest revelations come as a storm surrounds the England boss, already smarting from his side's humiliating 4-1 defeat by Denmark, with the FA probing claims he has been in constant contact with Faria.
An FA insider confirmed they knew the randy Swede HAD made a number of calls to his one-time PA.
And sultry Faria, who also had a secret fling with FA chief executive Mark Palios that eventually cost him his job, told us: "Apart from being a great lover, Sven was someone I could confide in.
"That's why after everything happened we still remained in touch on the phone. But we didn't have sex again.
"How could he keep in touch when I was taking his employers to court?
"I haven't spoken to Sven for a few months, neither have I met him nor had any e-mails from him.
"Despite everything that's gone on, I still have very strong feelings for him.
"Although we've both moved on in our lives, Sven was very special to me. And I know deep down that he loved me too." At her home in south London, Faria added: "I know that Sven genuinely liked me because of the way he kept in touch with me after the whole affair blew up.
"He was worried about me and wanted to help me. That meant a lot.
"He was the one who gave me the OK to tell my side of the story.
"And after reading it he rang me to give me his support. He was flattered that I'd described him as such a good lover.
"It wasn't just a fling for me. I loved him. But I know that Sven loved me too. A woman knows when a man loves her.
"You can differentiate when a man just wants to **** around with you or genuinely loves you.
"Despite what Nancy may say or think, I know it to be true.
"We had fairly regular conversations on the phone after I was forced out of my job and we'd just exchange friendly chit chat.
"When I moved to America he called and we'd talk about my work. It was never dirty phone calls or anything like that."
Faria also insisted she still does not feel an ounce of shame about her affair behind Nancy's back.
"I don't feel guilty, not one bit," she declared. "Why should I? Sven's the one who came chasing after me.
"I haven't done anything wrong. Why is it always the woman's fault?
"I just wish he had been strong enough to stand up to Nancy and leave her for me. But I don't think Sven will be cheating on her again, not for a very long time anyway.
"I think he's learned his lesson. And he's got too scared. He now knows all the flak he'll get from all sides."
